Accident: Two Killed in Major Mumbai–Pune Expressway Accident

A major road accident occurred on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway in Maharashtra, resulting in the deaths of two people. The crash involved two heavy vehicles that collided with each other, causing severe damage and disruption on the busy highway. Shortly after the initial collision, a third vehicle also crashed into the accident site, further worsening the situation. The chain-reaction accident led to significant traffic disruption and prompted authorities to temporarily shut down the Pune–Mumbai Missing Link route for approximately one hour. Emergency response teams and police personnel rushed to the spot to carry out rescue operations, clear the damaged vehicles, and restore traffic movement. Visuals from the accident site showed the extent of the damage caused by the collision. Officials worked to manage the traffic congestion that developed after the closure of the route. The incident highlights the risks associated with high-speed travel and heavy vehicle movement on major expressways. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and have urged motorists to exercise caution while driving.
