'WWIII Before GTA6?!' — Internet Explodes With Memes After US Bombs Iran's Nuclear Sites

WWIII fears spike after US bombs Iran’s nuclear sites — but the internet is busy memeing about GTA6, bunker busters, and surviving just long enough to play Rockstar’s next big game.

In what could be the most 2025 thing ever, the internet has responded to fears of a potential World War III the only way it knows how — with a flood of memes.

Early Sunday, the United States launched airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities — Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan — marking a dramatic and direct entry into Israel’s ongoing military campaign against Iran. And while geopolitics experts scrambled to assess the implications, the online world had only one question: “What happens to GTA6?”

Social Media: “WWIII Is Fine, But Let GTA6 Drop First”

While analysts debated the possibility of escalation, users on X (formerly Twitter) had other priorities. ‘World War III’ began trending almost instantly in the US, but instead of doom and gloom, timelines were filled with a bizarre cocktail of panic and humor.

Trump Says Mission Accomplished

Former US President Donald Trump confirmed the strikes in a post on Truth Social, writing that the United States has "completed a successful attack" on three strategic Iranian locations. He added a stern warning to Tehran, cautioning that the US could hit more targets “with precision, speed and skill.”

The strikes are seen as an escalation, with American stealth bombers reportedly dropping massive 30,000-pound “bunker buster” bombs — because apparently, normal-sized explosions just weren’t enough this time. The Associated Press reported that the aim is clear: decapitate Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran Confirms Attacks, Vows Continuation of Nuclear Work

Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization has confirmed the strikes took place but insisted that their work “will not be stopped.” In true plot-armor fashion, their underground facilities may have taken a hit, but the program continues — at least according to them.
