US Man Tries Butter Chicken, Naan For The First Time, Video Goes Viral With Over 36 Million Views

Indian cuisine has been renowned for its rich flavours and diverse range of dishes across the world. It is therefore no surprise that butter chicken and chicken tikka, are rated among the world's best-rated chicken dishes. Recently, butter chicken and chicken tikka ranked third and fourth, respectively in the list of top 50 chicken dishes globally, released by esteemed food and travel guide, Taste Atlas. Now a video of a man in the United States trying butter chicken and naan has gone viral on the internet.
Originally posted on Instagram by Luke Collins the video went viral after it was shared on the microblogging site X, formerly Twitter, by an account called ‘Microplastics Explorer’.
"This incredibly sincere white guy trying Indian food for the very first time and having his mind blown is so wholesome," reads the caption.
The clip opens to show Collins sitting inside a car with a meal that consists of onion bhaji, butter chicken, garlic naan, rice, and gulab jamun. He then goes on to taste the bhaji first, which he likes and gives it a rating of 8 out of 10. Then he tastes the naan and butter chicken which he says are amongst the best dishes he has ever had in is life. He gives them a rating of 9.5 and 9.9, respectively. He concludes his gastronomic adventure by eating the gulab jamun.
Since being shared, the video has amassed over 36 million views, 259.7k likes and tons of comments.

"This was 100% my reaction to Indian food the first time I had as a little kid in Iowa," commented one user one the post.
"This was so wholesome! AND relatable! I remember being mindblown the first time I tried Indian food. More people need to give Indian cuisine a chance!," wrote another user.
"Now I'm going to have to drive over to Bowling Green to check it out. It will only take 3 hours, but I'm there for it," commented a third.
