In May this year, at least three persons were arrested for allegedly chasing a family in Greater Noida in a luxury car of BMW make. The incident was reported from the Knowledge Park area of Greater Noida. In that instance, despite the family declining to lodge a formal complaint, the police took suo motu action against the culprits.

The incident was caught on the dashboard camera (dashcam) of the family's car. The time stamp on the footage showed the incident occurred around 1:15 AM. The BMW sedan suddenly comes and hits the other car's rear-view mirror. They then started chasing the family. As the high-speed chase in the Expo Mart area continued, the BMW managed to speed past the family's car and block the road. Three men emerged from the vehicle and hurled stones at the victims.

At the time of the incident, two men and a woman were in the victims' car. They were headed to a hospital as per the conversation recorded on the dashcam.
