Prithvi Shaw Selfie Row: Cricketer Booked After Influencer Sapna Gill Files Criminal Complaint

Prithvi Shaw: Sapna Gill sought the registration of an FIR under sections 354, 509, and 324 of the Indian Penal Code for assaulting her with a bat.

Cricketer Prithvi Shaw and his friend Ashish Surendra Yadav were booked after Social media influencer and Bhojpuri actress Sapna Gill filed a criminal complaint against them at the Andheri magistrate court.

She sought the registration of an FIR under sections 354, 509, and 324 of the Indian Penal Code for assaulting her with a bat and attached the medical evidence from the government hospital, which is a crucial proof document for sexual assault. Notably, Sapna was taken into custody in the same case, and she now claims to have been a victim.

In addition, officers Satish Kawankar and Bhagavat Garande from the airport police station were the subjects of a criminal complaint filed in accordance with section 166A of the Indian Penal Code for failing to carry out their responsibilities to register an FIR under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code against Prithvi Shaw and others in response to a woman's complaint.

Earlier, Sapna Gill levelled serious allegations against cricketer Prithvi Shaw in an exclusive interview. Notably, a video of her brawl with the cricketer had gone viral on social media after which criminal cases have been filed from each of the two parties involved against the other. ABP News interacted with Gill to know her side of the story in which she has made such shocking accusations. She categorically denies misbehaving with Shaw.

Sapna Gill has said that Shaw and his friend hit her, harassed her, and has already filed a First Information Report (FIR) against him after being granted bail. Initially, Shaw and his friends had registered a police complaint against the actress.

In this interview to ABP News, Sapna has said that Shaw abused her and those who were with her during the time of the incident. She said that she didn't know that the 23-year-old was a cricketer who has represented India. She said that as she wasn't aware of who he was, there is no question of taking a selfie. She has refuted all accusations made by the cricketer against her. Sapna revealed that Prithvi had hit her friend and when she intervened then he abused her and touched her private part.

Sapna then went on to narrate the entire turn of events. She said that at around 12:30 she and her friend had gone to Barrel Mansion nightclub. They were partying there in the VIP section. She said that Shaw was late to the club and started partying in the table next to theirs. After some time, she saw Shaw and his friends picked up a fight with her friends and when she went in to ensure her friend was fine, the cricketer even beat her and abused her.
