Did This Woman Drown Her Dog In Airport Toilet To Avoid Missing Flight?

Imagine arriving at the airport only to be thwarted by flight regulations that deny you the company of your beloved dog. Would you risk missing your flight to keep your 'friend' by your side? Or...

An American woman has been accused of a shocking act of cruelty, which would be simply unimaginable by a normal person.  The woman in question allegedly drowned her pet dog in an airport lavatory, in a desperate bid to avoid missing her flight.

The distressing incident, first reported by British news website Metro, has left animal lovers and the public at large horrified.
The 57-year-old US citizen, Alison Agatha Lawrence, was attempting to board a flight at Orlando International Airport in Florida when she was stopped due to improper travel documentation for her tiny white poodle.

According to reports by WFTV, rather than altering her travel plans or seeking alternative arrangements for her pet, Lawrence apparently took the innocent creature to a restroom and ended its life in the most inhumane manner. The incident reportedly occurred on December 16 last year.

The lifeless body of the dog was later discovered by airport cleaning staff, a grim reminder of the utter trust pets place in their human companions — only to be betrayed in the most unimaginable way.

The reports do not offer a detailed explanation for the delay. They simply note that after the December 16 incident a warrant was issued and Alison Agatha Lawrence was apprehended on Tuesday (March 18, 2025) — no specific details of what transpired in the ensuing days since the shocking airport incident have been provided.

After an arrest warrant was issued, deputies took her into custody at her home in Clermont on Tuesday, charging her with aggravated animal cruelty, a third-degree felony. Jail records confirm that she was released on a $5,000 bond within hours of her arrest.

Neighbours, visibly disturbed by the allegations, recalled seeing Lawrence walking her dog in the past, though not in recent weeks. One neighbour expressed sheer disbelief, stating, "Someone capable of such an act must be deeply troubled." Meanwhile, a woman who identified herself as Lawrence’s sister claimed she had no knowledge of the accusations and was unaware of her sibling’s whereabouts.

The Metro reported that the authorities did not disclose Lawrence’s intended destination or the timeline of her return home following the alleged crime. Given the severity of the accusations, Orlando International Airport officials refrained from commenting, citing an active police investigation, says the Metro report.

Social Media Outrage Pours In

Lawrence's heartless actions have prompted netizens to vent their anger on social media. Users on X (formerly Twitter) posted angry comments.

One user said an airport janitor had seen the accused cleaning up dog food and water off the stall's floor and 20 minutes later she found the dead dog in a trash bin.

"This despicable b**** (Alison Agatha Lawrence) didn’t have the proper paperwork for her dog to board her flight, so she drowned her dog in the airport bathroom toilet, threw the dog in the trash, and boarded her flight. She should meet the same end. Absolute degenerate," slammed another user.

"Alison Agatha Lawrence was in a Florida airport when she drowned her poor 9-year-old dog Tywinn in December. She was denied boarding without proper paperwork for the dog in order to fly to Columbia. The number has since been disconnected. Please Florida shame her," wrote another.

X was flooded with such comments and even more vile: "Alison Agatha Lawrence. Hell is too good for you." "Rot in hell, you absolute disg*sting piece of putr*d f*lth, Alison Agatha Lawrence! I hope you suffer like your poor dog did."

Contrasting Airport Incident A Year Ago

The shocking incident comes roughly a year and a half after another distressing case at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. In that instance, a woman was separated from her beloved dog, Maia, due to visa issues, and the pet subsequently went missing for weeks.

Unlike Lawrence’s poodle, however, Maia was eventually found alive — exhausted but resilient, having survived an ordeal on her own. Her owner was so desperate to be reunited with her that she was outraged when offered mere monetary compensation instead. Delta Air Lines' offer of $1,800 was seen as an insult, given the deep emotional bond between Maia and her owner, who went to great lengths to track her down and bring her home.
