Ability To Use One WhatsApp Account On 2 Android Devices Coming Soon?

Meta-owned WhatsApp may soon give users the ability to use one WhatsApp account on two devices.

WhatsApp, the world's most popular messaging platform, is likely to get a much-anticipated feature soon. Meta-owned WhatsApp may soon give users the ability to use one WhatsApp account on two devices. Currently, WhatsApp users automatically get logged out from their primary smartphones if they also log into their accounts through a tablet.

Supposedly called the Linked Devices feature, the ability to run one account on two Android devices has been made available for WhatsApp beta users. The Meta-owned company is alerting beta testers to run their accounts with WhatsApp's tablet version. WhatsApp’s Android app for users enrolled on the beta programme reads: “Have an Android tablet? WhatsApp for tablet is available for beta testers.”

It should be noted that the current ability is only available for WhatsApp beta users. Those who are not enrolled in the WhatsApp beta programme will not be able to use the feature. It should also be noted that the beta version is usually riddled with bugs.

The feature has been spotted within a week of WhatsApp's announcement of rolling out message yourself features, which is a 1:1 chat feature with yourself to send notes, reminders, and updates as needed. With this feature, users can keep track of their to-dos, send themselves notes, reminders, shopping lists and so on WhatsApp.

Meanwhile, Meta-owned WhatsApp is also working to add the ability to track call history within its desktop app. According to WABetaInfo, which is a tracker that keeps note of new and upcoming features of WhatsApp, an additional tab should become available to access call history within the app sidebar on Windows beta.

"WhatsApp is releasing a calls tab for the call history within the app sidebar! Thanks to the new call tab, users on WhatsApp beta for Windows can keep track of their call history from the native desktop app," WABetaInfo recently tweeted.

As per WABetaInfo, the additional calls tab will show up when a user opens WhatsApp, but it may be needed to restart the app if they don’t see it at first.
