WhatsApp To Bring Edit Message Feature For Windows Desktop App Too

Meta-owned WhatsApp is the world's most popular messaging platform with more than 2 billion users globally.

WhatsApp is working to bring an edit message feature for the Windows desktop app, according to WhatsApp beta testing site WABetaInfo. The site mentioned that WhatsApp is now rolling out a message editing feature, and it’s available for some beta testers. Meta-owned WhatsApp is the world's most popular messaging platform with more than 2 billion users globally.

Courtesy of the latest update available in the Microsoft Store, some beta testers will be finally able to edit messages.

"... the edit action finally appears within the message menu and it allows users to edit text messages. In order to maintain the integrity of conversations, you can edit a message within 15 minutes of sending it. So, if you want to find out if this feature is available for your account, you will need to test this feature with a recently sent message.

"In addition, it is currently not possible to edit a message that has been sent from a different device. Note that this may be a wider rollout, so some users on certain previous updates may be able to get the same feature starting today," WABetaInfo wrote on its page.

It should be noted that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that WhatsApp was releasing the ability to edit messages, in an announcement within the official Meta channel on Instagram. With this feature, users can quickly fix their typos by revising their messages after being sent. However, there is a limited limit and the edit message option is not available for the native Windows desktop app.

Meta-owned WhatsApp started rolling out a much-needed feature that lets users edit messages within a 15-minute window late last month. Company CEO Zuckerberg made the announcement in a Facebook post that WhatsApp users can now edit messages for up to 15 minutes after sending them.

The edit message option has started rolling out to users around the world and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks. "You can now edit your WhatsApp messages up to 15 mins after they're sent! 😅", Zuckerberg announced.
