Apple iPhone 15 Series To See Strong Sales Despite Hike In Average Selling Price: Analyst

The price hike in the upcoming iPhone 15 series is expected to impact the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models.

Apple is likely to increase the average selling price (ASP) of the upcoming iPhone 15 series with the prices of the iPhone Pro models expected to be hiked by up to $200 and yet, the iPhone 15 lineup will witness strong sales, according to famed Wall Street analyst Dan Ives, as quoted by CNBC. The Apple iPhone 15 series is likely to be unveiled this fall as the successor to the current-generation iPhone 14 lineup.

The upcoming iPhone 15 series will be priced higher than the current iPhone 14 line, according to Ives and the ASP of the iPhone 15 lineup will be $925 or roughly 76,300, says a report by Business Insider citing a research note issued by Ives. This is not the first time an analyst is predicting a price hike in the upcoming iPhone 15 series.

The biggest change in the iPhone 15 line will come in the form of the addition of 48MP cameras in iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, similar to what we have seen in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models, says a previous report. The iPhone 15 series is likely to be launched globally and in India in September. Apple is likely to launch four iPhone models this fall.

According to a previous report by tech publication MacRumors, the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will likely launch with an updated 48MP camera lens on the rear. The current iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus phones have a 12MP sensor on the back, and only the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro models feature a 48MP rear camera.

Meanwhile, TrendForce says that Tata Group will assemble a small chunk of the iPhone 15 series models in India. The conglomerate has recently acquired Wistron, so it now has got the company’s India iPhone production line. Tata Group, therefore, will reportedly become the new contract partner for iPhone manufacturing in India, and the fourth manufacturer for Apple after Foxconn, Pegatron, and Luxshare, the TrendForce added.
