Twitter Brings 'For You' Page, Similar To TikTok, For iOS. Know Everything

Twitter is introducing a "For You" for iOS device users that will replace the "Home" and "Latest" tabs.

In a feature that is similar to TikTok, Twitter is introducing a "For You" for iOS device users that will replace the "Home" and "Latest" tabs. The micro-blogging platform made the announcement on Wednesday and posted from its @TwitterSupport account: "See the Tweets you want to see. Starting today on iOS, swipe between tabs to see Tweets recommended 'For you' or Tweets from the accounts you're 'Following'."

"The 'For you' and 'Following' tabs replace 'Home' and 'Latest' and will be pinned to the top of your timeline so you can easily switch between them. Swipe to switch timelines instead of tapping the ✨ icon," Twitter Support added.

It should be noted that "For You" is similar to the popular short-video platform TikTok’s (banned in India) algorithmically-driven feed. It is also quite like the old “Home” option, which showed users tweets from the people they follow out of order, interspersed with tweets it thinks they may like.

This development comes days after Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced that users will soon be able to swipe right or left to move between recommended vs followed tweets, and long-form tweets would be introduced in early February.

One of the most sought-after changes that Twitter users have been demanding is the ability to post texts in bold and italics and it could be introduced soon, as confirmed by none other than Musk.

It should be noted that you can still post bold or italicised text on Twitter, but by using external Unicode text tools (several are easily found online), which use HTML codes to generate tweet text in italics or bold.

On Monday, user greg (@greg16676835420) — who is an investor and creator of the NFT collection called “The Multiverse of gregs” — tweeted that Musk had said that users will “soon be able” to bold and italicize on Twitter.

To this, Musk replied, “Any minute now.”
