‘The Only Meta We Acknowledge…’: Twitter Mocks New Facebook Rebranded For Metaverse
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Thursday that the company's new name will be Meta, as he said they are hoping to be seen as a metaverse company over time
New Delhi: Shortly after Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg announced the company’s big decision to change its name to Meta in a rebranding exercise, Twitter posted a message on the platform mocking the social media giant.
“The only #META we acknowledge is this...”, the Twitter Safety handle posted along with a link to a report on the company’s META team that it has hired to build what it calls “ethical AI”.
The team is made up of some of the most notorious critics of tech.

Twitter’s META stands for “Machine Learning, Ethics, Transparency and Accountability”, and the team is led by Rumman Chowdhury.
A separate post by Twitter after Zuckerberg’s announcement is also going viral on the platform, though it doesn’t mention Facebook or Meta.
“BIG NEWS lol jk still Twitter”, Twitter posted.
