PMAY 2.0: The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) 2.0 has been launched by the Narendra Modi Government to assist economically weaker sections and middle-class families in urban areas with affordable housing. This scheme, which provides financial aid, aims to address the housing crisis by offering a subsidy to beneficiaries for the construction of homes.

PMAY 2.0: Key Things To Know

• Scheme Focus: PMAY 2.0 is dedicated to urban housing, with an emphasis on building 1 lakh new homes.
• Financial Aid: Each eligible beneficiary can receive up to Rs 2.30 lakh as a subsidy.
• Scheme Components: The initiative will include various components such as Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), and Affordable Rental Housing (ARH), among others.

Launched following Union Cabinet approval on August 9, 2024, PMAY 2.0 builds on the success of the first phase, which saw the completion and handover of over 8.5 lakh homes. The online application portal for PMAY-U 2.0 is now live, offering a streamlined process for eligible individuals to apply for assistance.
