OnePlus 13T Promises Powerhouse Battery In A Compact Frame, Launch Set For April 24

OnePlus 13T is taking a bold step by housing a 6,260mAh battery, which is unusually large for a phone with compact dimensions.

As smartphone makers double down on premium compact devices, OnePlus is ready to shake things up with its upcoming OnePlus 13T. The phone is slated for launch in China on April 24, and it's already making headlines — not for how many cameras it packs, but for how long it can run without needing a recharge.

6,260mAh Battery in a Slim Shell

The OnePlus 13T is taking a bold step by housing a 6,260mAh battery, which is unusually large for a phone with compact dimensions. The confirmation came from Louis Jie, the Head of OnePlus China, via a post on Weibo. He stated, "You only need to charge it once a day for daily use."

He went on to add that users won’t need to rely on a power bank or even enable power-saving mode. In an era where most compact phones compromise battery life for design, this claim stands out.

Glacier Battery Tech Could Be the Secret Sauce

This impressive battery performance may be thanks to what OnePlus is calling its “Glacier Battery” — likely a version of the silicon-carbon battery tech that has been gaining traction in the Chinese smartphone market. These batteries are known for higher energy density, allowing brands to squeeze in more capacity without increasing size. They also support faster charging, which may explain earlier leaks about 80W fast-charging support for the 13T.

Interestingly, previous leaks suggested a 6,100mAh battery, but the latest official word confirms an even more powerful setup. The shared screenshots on Weibo showed the 13T outperforming or matching larger rivals like the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max in power-hungry tasks such as GPS navigation.

Compact, But Not Compromised

Despite going big on battery, the OnePlus 13T will maintain a compact 6.32-inch flat display with slim bezels. The phone will also come with a redesigned exterior, making it stand apart from previous OnePlus models. Reports suggest it will ditch the familiar Alert Slider in favor of a new physical button reminiscent of Apple’s Action Button.

Other rumored specs include Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, IP68 and IP69 ratings, and what looks like a trimmed-down camera system — likely to keep the cost in check. With competitors like Samsung, Google, and Oppo hovering around the ₹70,000 mark, OnePlus may price the 13T more aggressively.

If the final product lives up to the promise of long-lasting battery life in a sleek package, the OnePlus 13T could become a new favorite among users tired of lugging around battery packs — or worrying about where the nearest charging point is.
