Nothing Phone 3 Could Cost Up To Rs 60,000: Here's What You Get For That Price

Unlike its predecessors, which leaned heavily into design innovation, Nothing Phone 3 is tipped to deliver serious performance gains.

Nothing is gearing up for the launch of its most premium smartphone yet, with the Phone 3 set to be unveiled in India tomorrow, on July 1. While the company has kept its official pricing under wraps, rumour mill suggests the handset could be priced between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000 — a notable jump from the Rs 44,999 starting price of the Phone 2.

The price tag positions the Phone 3 in direct competition with devices like the upcoming Pixel 9a and Apple’s iPhone 16e. And with that comes the question: What exactly are you getting for that kind of money?

More Power Under the Hood

Unlike its predecessors, which leaned heavily into design innovation, the Phone 3 is tipped to deliver serious performance gains. It’s expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset — part of the flagship lineup — offering a clear upgrade over the Snapdragon 778G seen in the Phone 2.

Two variants are likely: one with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and another with a whopping 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. This should appeal to users who demand heavy multitasking, gaming, and long-term usage without slowdowns.

Triple Cameras and a 50MP Selfie Upgrade

At this price point, Nothing seems to be betting big on camera hardware. The Phone 3 is rumoured to bring a periscope telephoto lens for the first time, offering 3x optical zoom via a 50MP sensor. That’s backed by a 50MP primary and a 50MP ultra-wide camera, making it a triple-lens setup — a significant leap from the dual cameras of the Phone 2.

On the front, the selfie camera is expected to see an upgrade as well, moving from 32MP to 50MP, with possible autofocus support for sharper photos and videos.

Refined Design, Bigger Battery, Faster Charging

The Phone 3 will likely retain the iconic transparent back and Glyph lighting system, though with a redesigned layout. Leaked renders suggest a cleaner, sharper look with more visible screws and a new “Glyph Matrix” lighting cluster tucked into a corner of the device.

A 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display is expected to make a return, offering smoother refresh rates and better battery optimisation. Speaking of battery, users may get a bump to a 5,150mAh unit, paired with ultra-fast 100W wired charging. Wireless charging support remains uncertain.

A Premium Experience at a Premium Price?

Nothing’s custom Android skin, Nothing OS, will continue to offer a clean, bloat-free experience, with added polish and new features like eSIM support possibly in tow.

Carl Pei had earlier suggested that the Phone 3 could cost "around EUR 800," which converts to roughly Rs 90,500 — though India pricing tends to be lower. Based on recent leaks, a sub-Rs 60,000 price tag seems more likely.

Whether it justifies that price will depend on how well Nothing delivers on performance and camera capabilities. But one thing’s clear: the Phone 3 isn’t aiming for the budget crowd anymore — it’s chasing the big leagues.
