National Technology Day: AI, Quantum, Space, More — Modi Govt Promotes Nation's Tech Advancements

"Technology can potentially be a critical pillar in nation-building in the current century," tweeted MyGovIndia.

The Modi govenment on Thursday outlined various technological advancements of the country marking the 25th National Technology Day, which celebrates scientists and their efforts that led to the successful Pokhran tests in 1998. In a tweet thread on MyGovIndia, the government shared various policy announcements from National Quantum Mission to National Space Policy. 

The Centre said in a tweet, "Technology has changed the face of New India; right from National Quantum Mission to National Space Policy, India is transforming its future with Cutting-Edge Innovation."

"Technology can potentially be a critical pillar in nation-building in the current century," the tweet read, adding, "India’s Mantra for the Techade is ‘Make AI in India & Make AI For India’. India’s talent pool has the potential to meet the AI needs of the world."

It is also talked about National Quantum Mission, which aims to elevate scientific and industrial R&D and foster a dynamic quantum technology ecosystem. It seeks to stimulate quantum technology-driven economic growth, nurture domestic expertise, and position India as a global leader.

Talking about India's thriving startup ecosystem, the government said, "India's Deep Tech startups can be compared to the developed economies; they attracted $2.7 billion in venture capital through 319 deals in 2021. Over the last 3 years, 100 per cent YOY increase in deep tech startups which includes space tech, EV, robotics, AI automation, & climate change."

This year's National Technology Day theme is ‘School to Startups- Igniting Young Minds to Innovate’.

Boasting about the country's space sector, it said, "The new Space Policy would Institutionalize and facilitate private sector participation in the space sector. Private companies would be able to engage in the development of rockets, satellites, launch vehicles, data collection, and dissemination. With a robust Public-Private Partnership, India's space sector will skyrocket to new heights."

"India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) aims to build a vibrant semiconductor and display ecosystem, enabling India's emergence as a global hub for electronics manufacturing and design. Know more about how India Semiconductor Mission is fueling India's future growth," the government added.   

Centre said that India's Technological advancements are a global success story. The world acknowledges India's affordable and advanced technologies. India is the ​Fastest Growing Technology Centre in the World.
