National Technology Day 2024: 'May 11 Is Very Special For Every Indian', Says PM Modi & Other Leaders

National Technology Day 2024: India is celebrating National Technology Day 2024 on Saturday to honour the successful nuclear test at Pokhran in 1998. This day over time has evolved into an occasion for recognising India's advancements in the field of science and technology. Leaders from across the nation also joined in the celebration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this occasion said, "11th May is very special for every Indian."

He added, "The Tests in 1998 showed the prowess of our scientists and the exceptional leadership of Atal Ji."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, "Greetings on National Technology Day. It is a day intertwined with the nation's pride in dawning as a full-fledged nuclear nation with a successful nuclear missile test in Pokhran under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji. Today, under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi Ji, our nation is pacing ahead to emerge as a leader in the technological arena."

He further said, "May this day be the paramount inspiration for our new-age technology enthusiasts who devote themselves to building revolutionary technologies and making our nation proud."

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, "Hearty congratulations and best wishes on 'National Technology Day' to all the scientists and engineers engaged in making India modern, developed and strong! On this day in 1998, by conducting successful nuclear testing in Pokhran, India had ushered in a new era of its incredible capability, power and technological revolution."

The Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, Shankar Chaudhary, tweeted, "On #NationalTechnologyDay, salute the hard work and tenacity of our scientists and those passionate about technology. We proudly commemorate the 1998 Pokhran Tests, showcasing India’s scientific and technological excellence."
