Meta Is Planning To Replace Mid-Level Engineers By AI In 2025? Here's What We Know

Mark Zuckerberg recognised that achieving the goal of having artificial intelligence write code would require significant upfront investment and resources.

The fear of artificial intelligence taking away jobs from humans might be getting closer than expected. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has probably added to that fear for employees. Zuckerberg recently shared ambitions for artificial intelligence in the company. The Meta CEO has reportedly said that by 2025, he could see AI evolving to a point where it can substitute mid-level engineers, capable of writing code independently.

A MoneyControl report quoted Zuckerberg as saying, "Probably in 2025, we at Meta, as well as the other companies that are basically working on this, are going to have an AI that can effectively be a sort of midlevel engineer that you have at your company that can write code.”

Mark Zuckerberg recognised that achieving the goal of having artificial intelligence write code would require significant upfront investment and resources. However, he conveyed optimism about Meta’s future, expressing confidence that the company would eventually reach a point where AI systems would handle the creation of all the code used within its applications. This includes both the development of new code and the generation of AI-specific programming, marking a pivotal shift in how Meta approaches software development.
