Google Gemini AI App Now Allows Everyone To Edit Photos Like Magic: Here's How

Gemini’s AI can whip up a bedtime story complete with custom images. Want to merge two memories into one frame? That’s on the menu too.

Google’s Gemini app just got a serious creative boost. In its latest update, the tech giant has rolled out an advanced AI Image Editing feature that lets users transform photos using simple text prompts. From removing unwanted background clutter to giving your pet a makeover, Gemini is now a full-blown virtual editor — and it's surprisingly intuitive.

Edit Anything with a Prompt: From Hair Colour to Holidays

The new feature is designed to be both playful and practical. Users can now tweak AI-generated or personal photos by adding or removing objects, switching backgrounds, or even changing appearances, like trying out a new hairstyle or imagining themselves on a beach getaway.

Need a story to go with your pictures? Gemini’s AI can whip up a bedtime story complete with custom images. Want to merge two memories into one frame? That’s on the menu too.

As reported by PhoneArena, the new editing capabilities aim to bring “multi-step editing” that looks natural and seamless. “This feature uses multi-step editing to ensure smooth and realistic changes,” said David Sharon, Group Product Manager for Gemini Apps.

Your AI Edits Are Watermarked (Even If You Can’t See It)

Transparency is top of mind. Every image that’s touched by Gemini’s AI editor is tagged with a SynthID watermark — an invisible signature that quietly flags the image as AI-modified. In addition, Google is experimenting with visible watermarks for those who prefer clearer disclosure.

This feature aligns with the tech industry’s growing emphasis on ethical AI and image integrity, especially in the age of hyper-realistic deepfakes.

Global Rollout, Multi-Language Support

Google isn’t holding back on reach. The AI editing feature is being rolled out across multiple countries with support for 45 languages. Whether you're a designer in Delhi or a student in São Paulo, the update promises global access and ease of use.

To demonstrate Gemini’s new tricks, Google shared an example featuring a dalmatian on a lawn. A few prompts later, the dog sports a yellow cap and lounges on a beach — the transformation is so subtle, it’s hard to tell the photo was ever altered.

With this move, Gemini positions itself as not just a chatbot or a content creator, but a complete creative companion — one that helps users reimagine their visuals with just a few words.

Ready to turn your backyard selfie into a spacewalk snapshot? Gemini’s got your back.
