Paris Paralympic Games 2024
The 2024 Paralympics in Paris will begin on August 28 and end on September 8. The Indian contingent has more than 100 people, including 52 players from different sports. They will all be at the opening ceremony. This is the first time in history that the inaugural event will not take place in an arena. It will happen on Wednesday outside of the stadium.
Indian athletes, including the 10-person shooting team, are set to compete on August 29. They will not be in the parade of countries, though, because they need to prepare for their events. President of the Paralympics Committee of India Devendra Jhajharia told PTI that athletes who have events the next day will not be at the opening ceremony so that they can be fully prepared.
There will be 106 people on the Indian team at the parade: 52 athletes and 54 officials. Indian athletes want to win 25 medals at the Paris Paralympics 2024, with the tally for gold going in double digits. This comes after India did well at the Tokyo 2021 Paralympics, winning 19 medals, including 5 gold.
The whole country hopes that our players at the Paralympic Games will do the same for them as they did at the 2024 Olympics and bring home the gold.
