The Redmi A4 5G has recently been unveiled at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024, and it will be a budget friendly option as the price tag is likely to feature digits below Rs 10,000. The upcoming smartphone from the house of Xiaomi will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 System-on-Chip (SoC). The company emphasised that the Redmi A4 5G has been specifically tailored for the Indian market, providing improved power efficiency, faster connectivity, and an elevated user experience.

Redmi A4 Vs. Redmi A3
Although Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm most details about the upcoming Redmi A4 5G, aside from its processor, the model displayed at the event offers a glimpse of its design. The budget-friendly smartphone features a sleek flat frame, with the display seamlessly integrated. It was showcased in black and silver color options, highlighting a circular rear camera module. It is expected to boast a 6.7-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution. In contrast to this, the Redmi A3 is equipped with a 6.71-inch HD+ display (1,600x700 pixels) featuring a 120Hz touch sampling rate and a 90Hz refresh rate. It includes a waterdrop-style notch for the front camera and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The predecessor is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G36 SoC, coupled with 3GB of RAM. The available memory can be expanded to 12GB with the presence of virtual RAM functionality. In contrast to this, the upcoming smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 System-on-Chip (SoC).
The Redmi A3 comes equipped with an AI-powered dual rear camera setup, featuring an 8-megapixel main sensor and a secondary lens. For selfies and video calls, the device includes a 5-megapixel front camera. As for Redmi A4, the device is expected to offer a 50MP main camera and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
The Redmi A3 houses a 5,000mAh battery with 10W fast charging support whereas the Redmi A4 is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W wired charging.
