Xiaomi is set to launch its new Xiaomi 15 series smartphones today in China, featuring the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, which will be the first devices to run on the advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Alongside these flagship phones, Xiaomi is also rolling out a slew of other tech innovations, including the Xiaomi Pad 7 series, the Watch S4, and the Band 9 Pro.
The brand is expected to reveal its high-performance electric scooter lineup, cutting-edge Wi-Fi 7 routers, and the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra EV. This event will also introduce HyperOS 2.0, built on Android 15, which is expected to enhance Xiaomi's user experience.
Xiaomi 15 Series Launch Event and Price Details
Scheduled for 7:00 pm local time in China (4:30 pm IST), Xiaomi fans can tune into the livestream on the company’s Weibo page or through its official website.
While the tech giant has hinted at a price increase for the Xiaomi 15 series, reports estimate the base model Xiaomi 15 may start around CNY 4,599 (approximately Rs 54,400), and the Xiaomi 15 Pro is anticipated to be priced from CNY 5,299 (around Rs 62,700).
Xiaomi 15 Series Features and Specifications
The Xiaomi 15 series will showcase the robust Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, offering up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, positioning it as a powerhouse for both performance and storage.
The battery capacities are likely to vary, with the Xiaomi 15 expected to house a 5,500 mAh battery, while the Pro model may feature a larger 6,000 mAh cell. Both devices are anticipated to support 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, with the Pro variant potentially offering an upgraded 80W wireless charge.
Display-wise, users can look forward to LTPO OLED screens with adaptive 120Hz refresh rates, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ compatibility. The Xiaomi 15 is set to have a flat display, while the Pro model will feature a premium Quad Micro Curved design.
On the camera front, both models boast a trio of 50MP sensors, with lenses designed for main, ultrawide, and telephoto shots (offering up to 3.2x optical zoom). The Pro version may add a 5x optical zoom periscope lens. In partnership with Leica, Xiaomi’s latest camera system promises superior image quality, complemented by a 32MP front camera and IP68 dust and water resistance.
