Realme GT 7 Pro Tipped To Be First Snapdragon 8 Gen 4-Powered Phone: What We Know So Far

Xiaomi 15 series was earlier rumoured to be the first phone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.

Realme GT 7 Pro is set to launch in the Indian market soon. This announcement was confirmed by Realme's Vice President, Chase Xu, marking an exciting development for tech enthusiasts in the country. While specific details about the Realme GT 7 Pro's features and pricing are still under wraps, there is considerable buzz around its potential hardware. A well-known Chinese tipster has suggested that the GT 7 Pro could be among the first devices to incorporate Qualcomm's forthcoming high-performance chipset.

This information hints that Realme's upcoming flagship may debut with the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.

First Phone With SD 8 Gen 4

The tipster, known as Digital Chat Station on the social media platform Weibo, translated from Chinese, claims that the Realme GT 7 Pro will be the first smartphone globally to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. Qualcomm is anticipated to unveil this powerful chipset in October, aligning with speculation that the Realme GT 7 Pro will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year.

This speculation follows closely on the heels of Chase Xu's revelation about the imminent launch of the Realme GT 7 Pro in India. This has created a significant buzz in the tech community, especially with previous rumours suggesting that Xiaomi's 15 and 15 Pro models might also be among the initial devices to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. Additionally, other brands like OnePlus and iQoo are expected to feature this chipset in their upcoming models, specifically the OnePlus 13 and iQoo 13.

Realme GT 5 Pro Specifications

The Realme GT 7 Pro is expected to deliver notable enhancements over its predecessor, the Realme GT 5 Pro. The GT 5 Pro, which was released in China last year, has yet to be launched in India. It debuted with a base price of CNY 3,298, approximately Rs. 40,000, for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.

The GT 5 Pro boasts impressive specs, including a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,264x2,780 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, and peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and supports configurations up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The device features a triple rear camera setup, headlined by a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-808 sensor, and a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 sensor for selfies. It also includes a robust 5,400mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

With the anticipated enhancements and cutting-edge technology, the Realme GT 7 Pro is poised to make a significant impact in the smartphone market. Tech enthusiasts and consumers alike are eagerly awaiting further details and the official launch later this year.
