The newly-launched Nothing Phone 1 would get the Android 13 update as late as the first half of 2023.
The newly-launched Nothing Phone 1 would get the Android 13 update as late as the first half of 2023. The phone was launched amid a lot of hype last month and according to the company founder Carl Pei, the Android 13 update window for Nothing Phone 1 opens only next year.
Those looking toward a speedy rollout of the official Android 13 for the Nothing Phone 1 will be disappointed as the device would not get the update before the middle of next year.
According to a statement by Carl Pei to Android Authority, "We are always working hard to improve the Phone 1 user experience. To ensure this, operating system updates will be made available for regular download. In regards to Android 13, this will be launching for Phone 1 users in the first half of 2023. Before releasing, we want to fine tune the software upgrade with Nothing’s hardware. We will be sure to keep you updated with further information."
Meanwhile, the stable Android 13 was launched along with the August 2022 software update that fixes more than a hundred software issues last week. Android 13 arrived earlier than Android 12's debut last year and Google finally pushed out Android 13 for the Pixel lineup of smartphones.
Last year, Android 12 arrived in October, but this year, Android 13 debuted early. According to Google, after being rolled out for Pixel smartphones, the Android 13 updates should be reaching eligible smartphone models from Samsung, Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus, iQOO, Motorola, Asus, HMD Global, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno and Vivo with more smartphones joining the party "later this year".
"We have provided the latest software update for Pixel. This month, all supported Pixel devices running Android 12 will receive the Android 13 software update, which begins rolling out for most users today. The rollout will continue over the next few weeks depending on the carrier," Kuch M, Community Manager, posted on the Pixel Phone Help Community.
