Nokia T21 Tablet Launched With Unisoc T-612 SoC And 2 Years Of Promised Android Upgrades

The tablet comes with a promise of two years of Android upgrades and will go against the likes of Android tabs like Lenovo’s Tab P11 line and the affordable Redmi Pad.

HMD Global has officially launched the Nokia T21 Android tablet, which is a successor to the Nokia T20 tablet. The tablet comes with a promise of two years of Android upgrades and Unisoc T-612 SoC and will go against the likes of Android tabs like Lenovo’s Tab P11 line and the affordable Redmi Pad.

Nokia T 21's launch comes days after the launch of the Lenovo P11 5G premium Android tablet in India. The new Lenovo tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G mobile platform processor and supports 7,700mAH battery capacity.

The price of the Nokia T21 Android tab in India starts at Rs 17,999 for the 4GB/64GB Wi-Fi model while the Wi-Fi and 4G model costs Rs 18,999 with 4GB RAM/64GB memory. The Nokia T21 tablet has been unveiled in a single charcoal grey colour. The company has announced an introductory offer, under which both the variants will get a pre-booking discount worth Rs 1,000 as well as a complimentary flip cover worth Rs 1,999.

The tab will begin shipping starting January 22 and will be available across retail stores and the company's partner sites.

According to the company, the Nokia T21 tab features an all-metal body, but has a plastic exterior for its antenna. The plastic exterior has been made of 60 per cent recycled materials. The Nokia T21 comes with the Unisoc T-612 chip and gets a 10.36-inch display with 2K screen resolution as well as SGS Blue Light certification that aims to cut eye strain. For stereo audio streaming, the tablet also has certification for OZO Playback Audio.

“Our budding tablet portfolio has been highly popular with our audience. Building on the success of the Nokia T20, the new Nokia T21 is designed top-to-bottom for both work and play. It embodies our promise of long lasting battery, regular software and security updates, premium European-built experience and looks," Sanmeet Singh Kochhar, Vice President - India and MENA, HMD Global, said in a statement.

The tab's battery claims to last for up to 15 hours of web browsing and up to 7 hours of conference calls. Years later, it will still feel fresh as the battery remains healthy 60 per cent longer than average, the company further claimed. The Nokia T21 supports 18W fast charging with a 8,200mAh battery, which can retain 80 per cent capacity even after 800 charging cycles.
