Google Pixel 9a Design Leaked: Might Feature Oval-Shaped Rear Camera Module

The Google Pixel 9a is said to sport a 6.3-inch display with a refresh rate that could range from 60Hz to 120Hz.

The Google Pixel 9a is expected to launch next year as the successor to the Pixel 8a, and its specifications have already surfaced online. Now, a user on X (formerly Twitter) has shared two live images of the rumoured Pixel 9a, offering a glimpse at its design. The device appears to sport an oval-shaped rear camera module, unlike the metal "visor" featured on the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro models, which were unveiled by Google in August.

Google Pixel 9a Design Leaked

The first image posted by X user @feni_book reveals the rear panel of the alleged Pixel 9a. Interestingly, the device features a logo different from the usual "G" logo, which is often the case with early prototype models of Google's phones—previous leaks have shown similar logo changes before the final version is released.

The second live photo of the Pixel 9a prototype aligns with earlier leaks, confirming that the device will not have the protruding metal border seen on the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. Instead, the Pixel 9a is expected to feature a horizontally arranged dual-camera setup on the left side, with an LED flash on the right. The leaked front view of the phone suggests it will resemble the Pixel 8a, with a hole-punch cutout for the front camera located at the centre. The image also indicates that the Pixel 9a will maintain thicker bezels similar to its predecessor.

Google Pixel 9a Specifications (Expected)

According to previous reports, the Pixel 9a is expected to be powered by Google's Tensor G4 chip, the same processor found in the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. It is also rumoured to come with 8GB of RAM and offer up to 256GB of storage. The device is likely to feature a 48-megapixel dual rear camera setup.

The Pixel 9a is said to sport a 6.3-inch display with a refresh rate that could range from 60Hz to 120Hz. It is also expected to come with a larger 5,000mAh battery, an upgrade from its predecessor's 6.1-inch screen and 4,500mAh battery. More details about the phone are expected to emerge in the coming months as we approach its likely release in 2025.
