Instagram New Features: You Can Now Reply To Messages From Influencers In Broadcast Channels

In a recent blog post, Instagram outlined several new features for broadcast channels, including Replies, Prompts, and Insights and Best Practices.

If you are a part of any broadcast channels on Instagram, then you know that it is a one-way communication channel which in some way removes the fun out of the equation. Meta-owned Instagram is here to change that now though. Instagram unveiled new features for broadcast channels, enhancing how creators interact with their audience. Previously, the only way for users to engage was through likes and reactions, but now, users can reply to messages from both creators and fellow followers.

Additionally, the update introduces timed prompts and daily check-ins, allowing creators to foster more active and dynamic engagement within their channels.

Instagram New Features For Broadcast Channels

In a recent blog post, Instagram outlined several new features for broadcast channels, including Replies, Prompts, and Insights and Best Practices. The Replies feature allows users to interact with creators and each other by responding to messages, fostering more dynamic conversations. Similar to comments, users can delete or report replies. To activate this feature, simply tap the channel name, go to Channel controls, and enable the "Allow members to reply to messages" option.

The Prompts feature is designed to help creators engage their audience more easily by providing suggested topics or allowing them to create custom prompts tailored to their channel. Users can respond to prompts with text or photos within a 24-hour window and can also like their favourite replies. Any response from the creator will be shared in the main broadcast channel.

In addition to the new interactive features, Instagram is introducing tools to help creators track their engagement. Creators can now access valuable metrics, such as total interactions, story shares, and poll votes. To help boost engagement, Instagram offers goal-setting options along with personalized guidance and best practices. To view these insights, simply tap the channel name, then select "Channel performance." For a deeper dive, tapping "See all" will display detailed engagement metrics for the broadcast channel.
