Android 13 Is Finally Here Along With Fixes For Over 100 Bugs: Everything You Should Know

Arriving early than Android 12's debut last year, the stable Android 13 is finally here along with the August 2022 software update that fixes more than a hundred software issues. Google has finally pushed out Android 13 for the Pixel lineup of smartphones and along with that comes fixes for multiple issues, via the August 2022 software update.

Last year, Android 12 arrived in October, but this year, Android 13 debuted early. According to Google, after being rolled out for Pixel smartphones, the Android 13 updates should be reaching eligible smartphone models from Samsung, Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus, iQOO, Motorola, Asus, HMD Global, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno and Vivo with more smartphones joining the party "later this year".

"We have provided the latest software update for Pixel. This month, all supported Pixel devices running Android 12 will receive the Android 13 software update, which begins rolling out for most users today. The rollout will continue over the next few weeks depending on the carrier," Kuch M, Community Manager, posted on the Pixel Phone Help Community.

Eligible users would receive a notification once the OTA update becomes available for their device. Software versions: Pixel smartphone users may receive either the global version or a specific regional version depending on their carrier network.

As mentioned above, along with stable Android 13, the August 2022 software update for Pixel devices includes a bevvy of fixes and improvements across areas including device performance, stability and connectivity among others.

Biometrics fixes
Fix for issue causing app crashes during fingerprint unlock in certain conditions. 
Fix for issue occasionally preventing fingerprint unlock while notification shade is down. 
Fix for issue preventing face unlock to trigger in certain conditions. 
Fix for issue where fingerprint icon would occasionally overlap with UI elements on screen. 
Fix for issue where fingerprint icon would occasionally persist on-screen.
Fix for issue where fingerprint would intermittently stop working in certain conditions.
Fix to improve fingerprint haptics latency and response during unlock.
General improvements for fingerprint performance, stability and reliability.

General usability improvements for fingerprint enrollment.

Camera fixes
Fix for issue causing greyed-out shutter button while adjusting zoom level in certain conditions.
