Fitbit Charge 5 Gets On-Device ECG; New Blood Glucose Tracking Tool For Users In India
Fitbit Charge 5 has become the company's first tracker with an on-device ECG app. For Fitbit users in India with diabetes, the company has introduced a blood glucose tracking tool in the Fitbit app.
New Delhi: Google-owned wearables major Fitbit has introduced its ECG app to the new Charge 5. With this, the Fitbit Charge 5 has become the company's first tracker with an on-device electrocardiogram (ECG) app that will let users assess heart rhythm for atrial fibrillation on-wrist. This can be done by holding your fingers to the stainless-steel panels on the sides of the device while being still for 30 seconds to receive a reading and get deeper insights into your heart health.
For Fitbit users in India with diabetes, the company has rolled out a new blood glucose tracking tool in the Fitbit app to see how their glucose levels change throughout the day and react to other health metrics such as physical activity, sleep and nutrition, to help better manage their holistic health all in one place.
"Coming soon, Fitbit Premium members will also see how often their glucose levels fall within their target range over a 30-day period, along with correlations and trends from when they take a reading and their levels. Fitbit Premium members can also see their blood glucose levels in their Wellness Report to share with their healthcare provider to help their care team offer more personalized guidance," the company said in a statement.
The company has also introduced Daily Readiness Score that is a Fitbit Premium experience that uses proven research and insights from a user's body via the Fitbit device. Activities taken into account are heart rate variability (HRV over your entire night’s sleep), recent sleep patterns and activity, to help determine if a user should work out or prioritize recovery. It works by wearing the Fitbit device daily, and the user will receive a personalized score each morning with details on what impacted it, along with suggestions like a recommended activity level and Premium content to help make the best decisions for health.
The Daily Readiness feature is now available in the 'Today' dashboard of the Fitbit app for Premium members using Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2, Charge 5, Luxe or Inspire 2 devices.
