'We're Certain Modi Will Come To Power In 2024': TN BJP Chief On Amit Shah 'Pitching' For Tamil PM
Annamalai's remarks come in the wake of reports that Union minister Amit Shah pitched for a Tamil Prime Minister during his visit to the southern state earlier in the day.
New Delhi: Amid reports of Union Home Minister Amit Shah pitching for a Tamil Prime Minister in future, Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai said it was addressed to the party workers and as far as 2024 Lok Sabha elections are concerned, the BJP is certain that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come to power for the third time.
“For 2024, we are very clear that PM Modi is going to come to power for a third time with a bigger mandate...We are very clear that Tamil Nadu will contribute in a big number because the state has reaped the benefits of development in the last nine years and nobody has truly represented our culture like PM has done. I keep telling that PM Modi is a Tamilian...He has revived the beauty of Tamil culture,” news agency ANI quoted Annamalai as saying.

His remarks come in the wake of reports that Union minister Amit Shah pitched for a Tamil Prime Minister during his visit to the southern state earlier in the day.
Amit Shah made the remarks at a closed-door meeting of state party functionaries during his visit, party sources told PTI. Such an opportunity was lost in the past twice, Shah was said to have stated and reportedly blamed the ruling DMK for this.
“That was purely addressed to the workers of our party. The Home Minister was very clear, he traced his own journey from 1982 as a booth president to our national president to Home Minister now. He also traced the life of our PM...He said, from booth president to Prime Minister - all of you will keep climbing up the rank. That is the beauty of this party. So, he mentioned the Tamil friends sitting in front of me,” Annamalai further said.

Ahead of Amit Shah’s visit, Annamalai slammed Chief Minister Stalin over his comment about what the BJP did for the state in the last nine years. The BJP state chief said that the party will answer the same and ask 'what he has done for Tamil Nadu in the last 2 years'.
