AIADMK top leader Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday announced the appointment of two senior leaders as deputy general secretaries of the party, as per a PTI report. Earlier in the AIADMK General Executive Meet, the General Council anointed Palaniswami as the party's interim General Secretary and quashed the dual leadership in the party. On the same day, EPS faction expelled OPS from all party posts followed by unrest at the AIADMK party office in Chennai leading to the sealing of the office by revenue officials.

High drama unfolded before and after the General Council meet on Monday, which was allegedly done by the OPS supporters for putting an end to the dual leadership in party and expelling OPS from all party posts.

Meanwhile, former General Secretary VK Sasikala condemned the decision by saying EPS cannot dismiss Panneerselvam when his new posting is invalid. While speaking to reporters at Pudukottai, she said that the General Council meet was invalid as it was convened arbitrarily by those with a selfish motive

"I consider the AIADMK general council meeting held today to be a meeting that can be done for personal interest. The general council meeting held today is definitely invalid because such events should not be held when the case filed by me in the High Court is pending," expelled AIADMK General Secretary, VK Sasikala said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
