AIADMK Interim General Secy EPS Celebrates Jayalalithaa's Birthday Anniversary At Party Office

Chennai: After Supreme Court’s favourable verdict, Edappadi K Palaniswami visited AIADMK party headquarters in Royapettah for the first time on Friday, the birth anniversary of the late AIADMK patriarch Jayalalithaa.

On Friday, Edappadi was given a rousing welcome by scores of cadre who gathered at the office to celebrate the birth anniversary. Palaniswami then paid floral tributes to the picture and the statue of the leader installed in the party office.

Edappadi Palaniswami also cut a 75 kg of cake as it was the 75th birth anniversary of the leader. 

On the other hand, former TN CM O Panneerselvam paid floral tribute to former CM Jayalalithaa on her birth anniversary in Chennai.

On Thursday, SC held the July 11, 2022 AIADMK general council meeting as valid. The judgment cleared way for Edappadi Palaniswami to become the sole leader of AIADMK. A bench of Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and Hrishikesh Roy said it has upheld the Madras High Court passed on September 2, 2022, and made its earlier interim order permanent.

In the July 11 general council meet, EPS faction also expelled OPS. 

While pronouncing the order, the bench said, "We have not found it necessary to deal with any of the impleadment applications moved in these matters and we would leave it open for all such applicants also to take recourse to appropriate remedy in accordance with law, in case of any legal grievance existing with a right to seek relief in the appropriate forum."
