Actor Vivekh's Death Not Caused By COVID-19 Vaccine: Centre's Report
The 59-year-old actor got inoculated with Covaxin on April 15 at Omandurar Government Estate Hospital in Chennai and gave a press meet emphasising on taking the vaccine to fight against COVID-19.
Chennai: Actor Vivekh's death was due to a massive cardiac arrest and was not caused by the COVID-19 vaccine, said the Immunization Department of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday.
As per the report released by the Centre on Serious Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI), the actor suffered "acute myocardial infarction with cardiogenic shock with ventricular fibrillation" which clearly showed that the actor died to a cause other than the vaccination.
According to a report on The Hindu, the AEFI along with Vivekh also gave the results to 92 deaths due to serious adverse events.

On the death of the actor, the report informed that an investigation into actor Vivekh's death showed the actor died due to other clear reasons other than the vaccination and it was just coincidental following immunisation.
The 59-year-old actor got inoculated with Covaxin on April 15 at Omandurar Government Estate Hospital in Chennai and gave a press meet emphasising on taking the vaccine to fight against COVID-19.
However, the actor suffered a massive attack the next day and was taken to SIMS Hospital in Vadapalani. The doctors reportedly performed an emergency coronary angiography and found a 100 per cent block in an artery. They then performed angioplasty and put him on ECMO support.
Yet the speculations were rife that the actor died due to vaccination-related complications and the rumour led to increased hesitancy among the people of the state to take the vaccine.
However, even earlier, the state government had confirmed that Vivekh's death was not due to the COVID-19 vaccine.
