'Didigiri' Vs 'Dadagiri' In Bengal As CM Mamata Mounts Attack On Guv Bose, Says 'Won't Go To Raj Bhavan Till...'

Speaking at a campaign rally in support of TMC’s Hooghly candidate Rachana Banerjee, CM Banerjee declared her refusal to enter Raj Bhavan as long as Bose retains his position as governor.

New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Governor C V Ananda Bose over allegations of molestation against him, and said he must explain why he should not step down. Speaking at a campaign rally in support of TMC’s Hooghly candidate Rachana Banerjee, CM Banerjee declared her refusal to enter Raj Bhavan as long as Bose retains his position as governor.

"The governor says 'didigiri' (high-handedness) will not be tolerated...But, I say Mr Governor, your 'dadagiri' will not work anymore,” the TMC supremo said. She further said, "Bose must explain why he should not resign after such allegations were levelled against him", news agency PTI quoted CM Mamata as saying.

A contractual female employee of the Raj Bhavan filed a complaint with the Kolkata Police last week, alleging that she was molested by Governor C V Ananda Bose at the governor's residence on two separate occasions, April 24 and May 2.

Bose had screened multiple CCTV footage of the Raj Bhavan on May 9, in a bid to clear the air over allegations of molestation brought against him.

"The governor had released an edited video. I saw the entire footage and its contents are shocking. I have got another video... Your conduct is shameful", the chief minister said.

"I am not going to the Raj Bhavan till he is the governor... I prefer to meet him on the streets", she remarked.

Bengal Minister Akhil Giri Slams Guv Ananda Bose

West Bengal Minister Akhil Giri also criticised Governor C V Ananda Bose for the alleged misconduct involving a temporary employee of the Raj Bhavan. Speaking at a public rally in support of Trinamool Congress candidate Uttam Barik in Ramnagar, Purba Medinipur district, Giri, the minister for Correctional Administration, said that the governor has grown old and lost his cool due to excessive heat.

Giri said, "The governor must have lost his cool due to excessive heat. He was lured to pull a lady employee of the Raj Bhavan by his arms. If this be the case, let him go to South India and repeat the act", as per PTI.

Giri further said that top BJP leaders Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are neglecting the issue and targeting local party leadership in Sandeshkhali for speaking the truth that there have been no incidents of sexual harassment in the region.
