AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan's Son Booked For 'Assault On Noida Petrol Pump Staff'

A CCTV camera on the premises reportedly captured the incident, with the footage purportedly showing Khan's son and his companions aggressively attempting to obtain petrol from the station.

Aam Aadmi Party Delhi MLA Amanatullah Khan's son allegedly assaulted the staff of a petrol pump in Noida Sector 95, and the incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed on the premises.

The footage purportedly depicts Khan's son and his companions exiting their vehicle and aggressively attempting to obtain petrol from the station. Additionally, the video shows him retrieving an object from the trunk of his car and charging at the staff.

Noida DCP Manish Kumar Mishra said Khan's son attempted to bypass a queue and forcefully procure petrol from the fuel station. He then assaulted and threatened the staff members who intervened to prevent him from doing so, the police officer added. The DCP also said they had taken action and registered a case against the MLA's son.

"Amanatullah Khan's son wanted to break the queue and forcefully get petrol at the fuel station. He physically assaulted and threatened the fuel station's staff. Later, MLA Amanatullah Khan himself reached there and he also threatened the petrol pump employees. A case has been registered and action is being taken," said Noida DCP Manish Kumar Mishra, PTI reported.

Controversies Surrounding Amanatullah Khan

According to ANI reports, Amanatullah Khan, along with five others, was arrested by Delhi Police on 12 May 2022, for allegedly obstructing government work in Okhla. In March that year, Jamia Nagar Police Station prepared a proposal to declare Amanatullah Khan a "bad character". The proposal was approved by Delhi Police the same month.

Last month, Khan was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate after nine hours of questioning in a Delhi Waqf Board-linked case of alleged money laundering.

The ED, which conducted raids on the premises of the legislator, has claimed that Khan acquired proceeds of crime in cash through the illegal recruitment of staff in the Delhi Waqf Board and invested those to purchase immovable assets in the name of his associates.

Khan subsequently got bail, and the AAP has claimed the case is false.
