Maharashtra Colleges Re-opening: Colleges To Resume Offline Classes From Feb 1, Only Fully Vaccinated Students Allowed

Offline classes of colleges in Maharashtra will start from February 1. However, students will have to fulfill this condition to enter the campus.

New Delhi: Colleges in Maharashtra will resume offline classes from February 1. The government has taken this decision after considering various issues including the dip in the Covid tally in the past few days. However, the decision is still left to the local authorities and it is not mandatory for all colleges to start offline classes. Colleges that want to start offline classes may do so and those who don't want to may accordingly take the decision.

For starting offline classes in Maharashtra, the government has laid down a condition that only those students who are vaccinated will be able to enter the campus. Candidates who have not been vaccinated cannot enter the campus for offline classes.

Minister of Higher Education And Technical Education (Maharashtra) Uday Samant tweeted about this. In the tweet, he made it clear that only those students who are fully vaccinated will be allowed to attend offline classes. With this, the colleges will open with some restrictions and it will be mandatory to follow the covid protocols during this time.

Uday Samant also made it clear that the decision to open the college is in the hands of the local authority. They can make a decision while taking stock of the situation at their level. Those who do not want to start offline classes are free to do so.

Colleges in Maharashtra have also been instructed that they can conduct online exams till February 15, but after that, they can conduct the exams online or offline as they wish.
