'Equal-Opportunity Offender': Shashi Tharoor Poses With Male MPs Day After Selfie Row

The MP posted the image on Tuesday as a response to his previous group photo of him along with women MPs and a caption, "Who says the Lok Sabha isn’t an attractive place to work?"

Chennai: A day after creating a row by posing for pictures with women MPs and posting it with the caption "an attractive place to work" at Lok Sabha, Congress MP Sashi Tharoor took to social media once again to post another picture but this time with male MPs.

The Kerala MP posted the image with a caption, "More comradeship in Parliament as MPs assemble this morning, but no one expects these to go viral. Though I am an equal-opportunity offender!”

The MP posted the image on Tuesday as a response to his previous group photo of him along with women MPs Supriya Sule, Preneet Kaur, Thamizhachi Thangapandian, Mimi Chakraborty, Nusrat Jahan and Jothimani. The Congress MP posted the image with the caption, "Who says the Lok Sabha isn’t an attractive place to work?".

The image soon went viral and also received the wrath of several people. Rekha Sharma, the chairman of National Commission for Women said, "You are demeaning their contribution in parliament and politics by making them an object of attraction. Stop objectifying women in parliament."

Several other activists also called out the act as an attempt to objectify women.

Following this, Shashi Tharoor expressed his apology on social media. He said, " I am sorry some people are offended but I was happy to be roped into this show of workplace camaraderie. That's all this is."

In this backdrop, the Kerala MP has again posted an image with his male counterparts on Tuesday.

The 25-day winter session of Parliament started on November 29 and already 12 Rajya Sabha MPs were suspended for the entire session for alleged unruly conduct.
