New Low-Pressure Area To Form Over BoB On Nov 30, Rains Predicted In TN & AP For Next 48 Hours
In Chennai, mild to moderate rainfall will likely be experienced in the next 48 hours.
Chennai: After a series of low-pressure formations brought heavy rains and led to flash floods in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the formation of another low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. The low-pressure area is likely to form in the next 48 hours by November 30.
In a bulletin on Monday, the India Meteorological Department said, "A low-pressure area is likely to form over South Andaman sea by November 30, 2021. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and concentrate into a depression over Southeast and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal during subsequent 48 hours."

"Scattered to broken low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection layover Westcentral Bay of Bengal off South Andhra Pradesh Coast Southwest Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu North Coast and neighbourhood,” the bulletin said.
Due to the formation of a low-pressure area, heavy to very heavy rains are predicted in Virudhunagar, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari and Tenkasi districts. Mild rains are likely to be experienced in Madurai, Tirunelveli, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Puducherry and Karaikal, as per IMD.
In Chennai, mild to moderate rainfall will likely be experienced in the next 48 hours. The fishermen are also warned from venturing into the sea for the next three days.
