Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel Gets Whip-Lashed As Part Of 'Gaura-Gauri' Pooja. WATCH
Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Bagehl went to Durg on the occasion of the 'Gaura Gauri' pooja ceremony and got whip-lashed as part of the ritual here.
Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel got whip-lashed on the arm as a part of a ritual on the occasion of 'Gaura-Gauri' pooja, a day after Diwali, in Janjgir of Durg. The CM volunteered for the ritual, the way he did last year where he received five whip lases on his arm as part of the festival celebration.
The 'Gaura-Gauri' pooja is a celebration of the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is observed in various parts of Chhattisgarh.

This comes amid the elections in the five states in Chhattisgarh which will vote for the second phase on Nov 17 on 70 seats. The first phase of voting was done on Nov 7 in 20 assembly constituencies.
On Diwali, Baghel announced 'Chhattisgarh Griha Lakshmi Yojana' for women of the state under which they will get Rs 15,000 in their account per year. "Big Announcement: Today, on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, with the grace of Goddess Lakshmi ji and blessings of Chhattisgarh Mahtari, an important decision has been taken for the women power of the state. As soon as the Congress government is formed, the women of the state will be given ₹15,000 per year directly into their accounts under the 'Chhattisgarh Griha Lakshmi Yojana'. Jai Lakshmi Mata, Chhattisgarh Mahtari ki Jai," Baghel posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Last week on Sunday (Nov 5), the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister released the manifesto for the Congress party. Announcing the poll promises, Baghel said if elected to power, the party would provide a Rs 500 subsidy on gas cylinders and conduct a caste census in the state. The manifesto promised the construction of 17.5 lakh houses in rural areas and a provision of free medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh.
For victims of road accidents, the cost of treatment will be borne by the government, Baghel said enlisting poll promises.
