BJP Knows Nothing But Conversion And Communalism: Chhattisgarh CM Baghel Ahead Of Polls

He further asserted that BJP's only focus is on the issues of conversion and communalism.

New Delhi: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday accused the BJP of attempting to malign the political atmosphere of the poll-bound state and said that the opposition party won't succeed no matter how hard it tries.

He further asserted that BJP's only focus is on the issues of conversion and communalism.

Baghel further highlighted the measures his government has taken, including the announcement of three significant schemes, commitment to conduct a caste-based survey, and the procurement of 20 quintals of paddy.

"No matter how much they (BJP) try to malign the environment, they will not succeed. They have done a PhD, and they know nothing but conversion and communalism. We have announced 3 huge schemes till now. We said that we would do the caste-based survey. We announced in the Vidhan Sabha that we would buy 20 quintals of paddy," Baghel told the reporters.

"We announced that the Chhattisgarh government will make 17.5 lakh homes at its own expense if the centre does not provide funds. But they are yet to speak anything other than bad words," he added.

The elections for the 90-member assembly will be held in two phases on November 7 and 17.

Earlier on Tuesday, Baghel had hit out at BJP saying that the saffron party's plan of "divide and rule" will not work in Chhattisgarh and slammed Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his statement accusing the Congress of doing "appeasement" politics for votes in the poll-bound state.

Speaking at an election rally in Rajnandgaon earlier on Monday, Shah attacked the Baghel government over communal violence in Biranpur village of Bemetara district in April and said the ruling party will continue doing "appeasement" politics for votes if it returns to power in Chhattisgarh after the polls.

In response, Baghel on Tuesday said, “Action was taken in the (Biranpur) incident and the accused were arrested. Police have also submitted a chargesheet in the court and compensation has been announced for the victim by the government. They (BJP) are left with no issues to raise. They will speak on only those things in which they have PhD."
