Bihar School Set On Fire After Student's Body Is Recovered On Campus
A school building in Patna, Bihar, was set on fire after the body of a four-year-old student was recovered on the campus.
Patna's Danapur was on the boil on Friday, following the recovery of the body of a student from the school premises. The four-year-old student had been missing since Thursday. As the news of the student’s body being found on the campus spread, it created an uproar among the locals who took to the streets to express their anger. The angry mob set the school on fire.
The incident occurred at the Tiny Tot Academy in Patna's Ramjichak area under the Digha police station.
The kid had gone to school on Thursday but did not return home. His family looked for him high and low, but could not find him. On the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, his body was found in the school.
While speaking to news agency IANS, a family member of the deceased kid blamed the school authorities for the death and said, “During the inquiry, they said your child had gone home... We complained to the administration and at 2.30 AM, we found the missing child's body in the school. This is a murder because this information was being hidden from us as the child had been missing since noon."

As the news spread, angry locals first blocked the Digha Ashiana Road and then staged a protest against the school by burning tyres on the road. Visuals of the school building on fire were doing rounds of social media on Friday.

On receiving information about the incident, the local police reached the spot to pacify the mob. The police said that they are probing all angles of the case.
Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress took the opportunity to mock PM Narendra Modi's much-touted "double-engine ki sarkaar [double-engine government]". It said that the child's death was the result of a failing law and order in Bihar under the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar.
Taking to its X (formerly Twitter) handle, TMC wrote, "Even a child is not safe in NDA-ruled Bihar!" Calling it a "failure" of BJP and the National Democratic Alliance in the post, TMC wrote, "A 3-year-old child was ruthlessly murdered and hidden inside the school, exposing the total failure of law and order in the DOUBLE-ENGINE state."
TMC sought justice for the child and extended its heartfelt condolences to the family.
