‘Nothing else matters when it comes to Olympics’ said Bajrang Punia as he call it quits to all his social media accounts.

Asian Games and Commonwealth Games gold-medalist, Bajrang Punia has decided that he will stay away from all kinds of social media until the Olympic Games 2021. Tokyo Olympics will be the first Olympic Games in the career of Punia. He posted this information on his Twitter and Facebook accounts. He wrote: “Mein apne sabhi social media handles ko aaj se band kar raha hu.  Ab Olympic ke baad aap sabhi se mulaakaat hogi ... ummeed karta hu aap apna pyaar banaye rakhenge ..... jai Hind”

Translated in to English, this message means: ‘I am shutting down on all my social media accounts. I will meet you all after the Olympics. I hope you keep showering your love on me… Jai Hind’

Here is the Twitter post by Bajrang Punia:

Punia while talking to Times of India said: "It (decision) was tough but isn't something I haven't done before. In pursuit of an Olympic gold, you make such sacrifices. Nothing else matters when it comes to Olympics. For the next five months, I will be staying off all kinds of social media distractions to pursue my dream of winning a gold for India.”

The Olympic Games in Tokyo will begin from 23 July 2021 and will close on 8 August 2021. The event has a record 33 sports this time. 339 medals and 42 venues in all await the athletes from around the world.
