WATCH: AB de Villiers takes revenge after getting hit on head
Barbados: AB de Villiers played a brilliant innings to help the Barbados Tridents to victory in their Caribbean Premier League (CPL T20) match against the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots on Wednesday.
De Villiers' 82-run knock, which came in just 54 balls and included 3 sixes and 9 fours, was his second consecutive half-century and his highest score this season.
But the fearsome South African batsman received a dangerous blow to his head during the innings. The incident happened in the 17th over of the match. On the fourth ball of the said over, Alzarri Joseph bowled a short one that rose sharply towards de Villiers. Though AB is considered one of the best pullers, that particular ball surprised him and smashed hard into his helmet.
Thankfully it didn't cause any damage and de Villers got back to his senses almost immediately.
What followed the incident was straight out of Hollywood film. Unfazed by the blow on the previous delivery, de Villiers smashed the fifth ball out of the park.
You need to see it to believe it. Here is the video:
