Last month, the Central government had announced a 'liberalised and accelerated' Phase 3 of Coronavirus vaccination from May 1 to ramp up the vaccination drive in India. As per the government order, anyone above the age of 18 are eligible to get vaccinated.
Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and veteran speedster pacer Ishant Sharma on Monday received their first dose of Coronavirus vaccination. While Virat Kohli took to Instagram to post a picture with a message "get vaccinated as soon as you can", Ishant Sharma and his wife Pratima shared their selfie in front of a vaccination centre.
India pacer Umesh Yadav, Ajinkya Rahane, and star opener Shikhar Dhawan have already got their first dose of Covid-19 vaccination.

"Thankful for this and grateful for all the essential workers. Happy to see the smooth running of the facility & management. Let's all get vaccinated at the earliest," Ishant wrote on his twitter handle.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had announced that team India, on June 2, will depart for England to play six Test matches, including the final of the much-awaited World Test Championship final against the Kiwis.

According to a report in news agency PTI, the Indian squad going on the Sri Lankan tour will not include senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Ganguly told PTI that players going to England will not have anyone from the outfit that will be in England at that time.
