Irfan Pathan's Befitting Reply To Pak PM's Distasteful Tweet On India's World Cup Exit

On the eve of England-Pakistan summit clash on Sunday, former team India pacer Irfan Pathan has come up with a befitting reply to Shehbaz Sharif's distasteful tweet.

New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took a cheeky dig at team India, moments after their heartbreaking semi-final loss against England in T20 World Cup 2022.

Pak PM had tweeted: "So, this Sunday, it's: 152/0 vs 170/0 #T20WorldCup." The first figure (152/0) signified India's 10-wicket defeat against Pakistan in last year's T20 World Cup. On the eve of England-Pakistan summit clash on Sunday, former team India pacer Irfan Pathan has come up with a befitting reply to Shehbaz Sharif's distasteful tweet.

"The difference between us is that we get happy when we win and you get happy when others lose. That is why you can't focus on building your own nation," Pathan wrote on Twitter.

Earlier in the day during the traditional press conference in Melbourne, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was also asked about the Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's tweet. A reporter asked Babar whether such social-media posts add pressure on the team.

Babar replied saying, “There is no pressure as such. But sorry to say, I didn't see this tweet so I have no knowledge of it. But yes we just try to give our best against the opposition.”

Pakistan will lock horns against England in the summit clash on Sunday at the MCG. During the presser, Babar Azam talked about the uncanny resemblance between T20 World Cup 2022 and 1992 ODI World Cup.

"Ofcourse, the similarities are there. We will try to win the trophy, it is a big honour for me to lead this team and especially at this big ground. We will try to give our 100 per cent and win. We did not start well, but the way team came back, they fought like tigers. We will look to continue from here and we will look to give our best," said Babar.
