ICC T20 World Cup: Aakash Chopra Names His Four Semi-Finalists

India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium on October 24, which will be the first day of the main round of the T20 World Cup 2021.

New Delhi: Cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra has named his four favorite teams that can make it to the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup, slated to take place in Oman and United Arab Emirates (UAE). During a Q&A session with the fans on Twitter, Aakash named India, England, West Indies and Pakistan as top contenders for reaching the T20 World Cup semi-finals.

Chopra named India as one of the strongest contender to win the T20 World Cup, also West Indies, the most successful team in the history of this tournament and England and Pakistan as well. India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium on October 24, which will be the first day of the main round of the T20 World Cup 2021.

The T20 World Cup is being organized after five years. The previous tournament was played in India, where West Indies emerged as champions for the second time. Earlier, T20 World Cup was scheduled to be played in India, but due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it was shifted to UAE and Oman but still is being hosted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

This time a total of 16 teams are participating in this marquee event. Before the start of the tournament, there will be an eight-nation qualifying tournament, which will start from September 23. It also includes teams from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Ireland. Out of this, four teams will qualify for the Super-12 stage.
