Yashasvi Jaiswal Thanks Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli After Returning To Form With IPL Ton

Yashasvi Jaiswal: The RR opener wasn't in the best of form but slammed a hundred against MI, a knock which would make his India teammates Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli happy ahead of T20 World Cup.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener, wasn't in the best of forms heading into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday. The left-handed batter had come off a dream series while playing for India against England in the Test matches. However, when it came to the IPL, Jaiswal had not even breached the fifty-run mark even once in the first half of the seventeenth edition of the tournament.

It all changed during RR's match against MI on April 22 (Monday) as Jaiswal's ton powered the inaugural champions to a dominant 9-wicket win over MI. Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 104* off 60 deliveries, bringing up his second IPL hundred in the process. However, post the match, the 22-year-old thanked his Team India captain Rohit Sharma and senior batter Virat Kohli.

Coincidentally, Rohit was in the opposition dugout when Jaiswal slammed a hundred but would be happy for Jaiswal, considering his form would be critical for India's chances at the T20 World Cup 2024 set to commence in June.

Incredible To Enjoy The Game To Go Through The Phases: Yashasvi Jaiswal

"It's incredible and I am enjoying it. Initially, it was tough for me but that's how cricket is. I guess you have to go through ups and downs and learn. I want to thank all my seniors Virat bhaiya (Virat Kohli) and Rohit bhaiya (Rohit Sharma) and especially Sanga sir and Sanju bhai, the way they have been talking to me. It's incredible to go through these phases and still enjoy the game," Yashasvi Jaiswal said in an interview with the IPL website.
