Rajasthan Royals (RR) will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the sixth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2025 on March 26 (Wednesday) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. Both RR, led by Riyan Parag and the defending champions KKR, led by Ajinkya Rahane, faced defeats in their respective IPL 2025 opening encounters.

In their first match of the season, Kolkata endured a dramatic middle-order collapse against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), managing 177/8 in their 20 overs. In response, RCB cruised to victory, chasing down the target in just 16.2 overs. The defending champions will look for a stronger showing from their seasoned middle order.

Rajasthan Royals' bowling attack struggled against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who posted the second-highest total in IPL history with 286/6. In response, RR fought hard, finishing at 242/6 in their 20 overs. Despite falling 44 runs short in their chase, they showed promise in their opening game in Hyderabad. Tushar Deshpande impressed with figures of 3/44, while the batting lineup delivered with contributions from Dhruv Jurel (70), Sanju Samson (66), Shimron Hetmyer (42), and Shubham Dubey (34), helping RR register their highest IPL total.

Notably, Rajasthan Royals will be led by Riyan Parah instead of the regular skipper Sanju Samson as he announced prior to their opening match that he’ll be playing only as a batter in the first three IPL 2025 matches and will not field.
