LSG Player Retention List IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have announced the list of players they will be retaining ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Mega Auction. KL Rahul who was captain of the team last season has not been named in the list of players Lucknow have trusted to keep in their side.

LSG have opted to retain Nicholas Pooran, Mayank Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Ayush Badoni and Mohsin Khan. They called them the 'Fantastic Five' in a post on social media. While Pooran will get Rs 21 crore, Bishnoi and Mayank have bagged Rs 11 crore each. Uncapped Indian players Mohsin and Ayush have bagged Rs 4 crore each. Their retentions have left them with a purse of Rs 69 crore with one Right To Match (RTM) option available.

LSG's Previous Set Of Players Featured In 3 Seasons, 2 Playoffs

As LSG rebuild with the mega auction lined up later this year, it is pertinent to note LSG have featured in 3 season so far, going on to play the Playoffs in two of them. 2024 was the only season they did not make it to the final four but with only limited retentions available, most of that bunch have to go back to the auction pool including captain Rahul.

In IPL 2024, LSG finished seventh on the points table with 7 wins from 14 matches. It was a season where four teams finished at 14 points with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) heading into the Playoffs with 14 points because of a superior net run rate (NRR), suggesting LSG did not miss out by much.
