IPL 2025: Rain Washes Out KKR vs PBKS Clash At Eden Gardens

Rain had the final say in the KKR vs PBKS IPL match no. 44 on April 26 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

KKR vs PBKS: The 44th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) was called off due to rain on April 26 (Saturday) at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. Both teams shared a point each in what was the first match in the tournament to be washed out by rain.

Put into bat, PBKS got off to a strong start, with both their openers notching up impressive fifties. However, KKR fought back well in the later stages, with Andre Russell and Vaibhav Arora bowling tight spells at the death to restrict the scoring. Veteran spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy had an off day, conceding nearly nine runs per over. Punjab still managed to finish with a strong 201-4 in 20 overs.

In response, KKR managed to face just one over before heavy rain interrupted play and eventually led to the match being abandoned. With the points split, PBKS would take heart from the valuable point gained, while KKR’s playoff hopes took another hit.
