IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians Become 1st Team To Get Eliminated From Tournament

IPL 2024: Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians become the first team to get knocked out of the Indian Premier League 2024 after Sunrisers Hyderabad defeat Lucknow Super Giants by 10 wickets.

IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians (MI) become the first team to be formally eliminated from the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2024 as the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) downed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 10 wickets in the 57th match of the tournament. Mumbai Indians’ fragile fate was dependent on the result of the SRH vs LSG match of the IPL 2024 on May 8 as Hyderabad’s defeat would have meant that Mumbai still had hopes of qualifying to IPL playoffs.

Mumbai Indians have been the most under-performing team in the IPL 2024 season so far as they have only managed to win four games out of the 12 matches that they have played. Given the pedigree of players they have in their team, they would be very disappointed to find themselves out of the tournament.

After taking over the team’s captaincy from Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya found himself in the firing line of fans’ wrath as Sharma won the IPL trophy for Mumbai Indians on five occasions. Hardik’s performance, too, was below-par as he could not perform with either bat or the bowl for the Mumbai-based franchise. Mumbai Indians have just two matches left as they will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants in their next fixtures. They would hope to put up a good show and finish the IPL 2024 season on a high.
